BAND CAMP REPORTS
Last weekend, all 3 of our school's bands went to band camp. The pouring rain didn't dampen our spirits at all!!!
We had a very busy schedule of instrument tutorials and whole band practice. Everyone tried their best and improved a lot. We all had lots of fun. Roy M – Concert Band Captain
Although it was rainy and windy kids from the Waratah, Concert and Performance bands had band camp from the 5th- 6th of June. During the two days the kids had tutorials, rehearsals and played indoor games run by Scouts. After a challenge night and going to bed we continued with our activities. The bands improved heaps, had a great time and are excited to come back next year for more fun. Kara D - Concert Band Captain
Marching on through two days of soggy instrument playing, the three Mount Colah bands went to Baden Powell Scout Centre to play until they could play no more, and then eat until they could eat no more. And finally, talk until they had to go to sleep. Though the weather may have slowed us down, luckily only one cabin had to be evacuated due to a bad case of bathroom flooding. We got through about one term's worth of practice and quite a few new songs. It may not have met everyones' hopes of rock climbing, ballista building and crate stacking but in substitute the activities run by the Scouts made it just as jolly a band camp as ever. Colin N – Performance Band Captain
