The cold and rain didn't stop the students at Mount Colah Public School from enjoying activities to celebrate Harmony Day on Monday 21st of March. Stage three students joined with their younger buddies from kindergarten and year one to work together to make Harmony Day badges and a peace symbol to help the children understand what a lucky country we live in, where everyone belongs and is welcome. ‘Our diversity is our strength' is this year's theme and children in stage two were busy reading about other cultures and backgrounds as well as completing craft activities related to the day. To top it off the children were treated to frozen oranges and hummus and carrot sticks. In recognising the day, our hope is that children of today will help Australia to remain a safe and harmonious country that welcomes all and celebrates it's diversity.
