MCPS is participating in the Live Life Well program which is a joint initiative of the NSW Department of Education and Communities (DEC) and NSW Health. It aims to enhance teachers' knowledge, skills and confidence in teaching nutrition education and physical activity (including fundamental movement skills).
Live Life Well @ School strives to have more students, more active, more often and equips students to make healthy eating choices. As a result of the program MCPS has introduced Crunch and Sip which encourages students to eat fresh fruit and vegies for snacks and drink water regularly. Another large component of the program is the Fundamental Movement Skills program which sees Year 6 student leaders teaching Year 1 students the fundamental movement skills which they need to participate in games and activities.
These initiatives, along with the purchase of new sports equipment, will see MCPS students developing good health habits and fitness for the future. Please find below some useful facts sheets.
