Year 3 students put technology to good use by linking up with the Space Centre Houston for a video conference. Participating in a program called "To pop or not to pop", students learnt about air pressure and how space suits are designed to protect the astronauts. Education officer Steve at the Space Centre, conducted experiments showing students the effects of pressure on various objects. Students had to design a 'space suit' to protect their own balloon astronauts and these designs were then tested to see if they would protect the astronaut from dangers in space. Happily, most designs were successful and the 'astronauts' survived.
