Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
We are a co-educational school offering students strong academic, sporting, creative and performing arts programs. Our diverse curriculum and extracurricular programs cater for students with a full range of abilities and interests.
The dedicated, experienced teaching staff fosters a culture of excellence that encourages all students to achieve their personal best. We respect students as individuals who have rights, but also responsibilities. The school promotes the values of integrity, excellence, respect and responsibility across the school and within the community. A strong, responsive student welfare program is in place and we have clear discipline policies and a defined uniform code that ensure a safe, orderly learning environment.
The school has an excellent track record in the National Assessment Plan - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). Additionally our value added data shows that students benefit enormously from the academically rigorous program at Mt Colah Public School.
Mt Colah Public School is located in the leafy suburb of Mt Colah and has excellent facilities and extensive, beautiful grounds with many large trees.
Although the school was established in 1952 our educational practices are firmly embedded in the 21st Century. The school has a computer laboratory, a large bank of computers in the library, video conferencing facilities and Interactive Whiteboards in all classrooms. This infrastructure has enhanced our ability to enable our students to become part of the digital community.
Participation by parents at Mount Colah is highly valued. Parental involvement in school life may include assisting with reading and classroom activities, school governance, ground maintenance, canteen, fundraising and sporting activities.
If you are sending your child to school we recognise that this is an important and sometimes difficult time in your life. However be assured we are not taking your children away from you, but instead we are developing a partnership with you in your child's education and building on the foundation you have begun at home.
We look forward to working in partnership with parents and the wider community to ensure that the children attending Mount Colah Public School are provided with a safe and happy environment in which they are able to realise their true potential.
