Ready for high school?
Strong transition
At Mount Colah Public School, we understand that every stage of schooling brings important transitions. Our programs are designed to build confidence, create connections, and ensure each child feels secure and supported at every step. Our local high schools work closely with us to help students feel ready by offering orientation days and subject tasters for our students from Year 4 onwards.
High school brings new experiences and routines, including:
- a larger school with more subjects, teachers and classrooms
- a timetable with different lessons each day
- moving between classrooms and carrying books and equipment
- more independence and responsibility for homework and study
- new friendships and opportunities to join activities and clubs.

Visit us before you enrol
Starting a new school is a big step. We're here to help make the transition a smooth and positive experience for every student and their family.
Our school invites parents and children looking to enrol, or starting school, to join one of our School Tours. School tours run for approximately 30 minutes. Our school leaders will take you on a tour of our beautiful school grounds and share important information about daily school life. School tours are a great opportunity for your child to become more familiar with our school.
Don’t just take our word for it—hear from participants who’ve experienced it themselves:
- Very informative and I loved that it was done by students
- Very informative and they were clearly proud of their positions
- The students are very helpful and eloquent
- Kids did a great job and showed everything we need to know about the campus
- The student led tour was an excellent reflection of the school and how much pride the students have for it. They spoke extremely well and I appreciate the time they took out of their class
**Please direct any questions regarding school enrolment procedures to the school office.
